Merry Kalimba Christmas! Have a Jolly Time with 30+ Easy to Play Christmas Songs

Nothing like a festive mood for some merry music making. So get ready to warm hearts around the Christmas tree with these easy to play Christmas carols for the kalimba!

Here is a round up of some fine musicians who have kindly taken it upon themselves to share some merry melodies in classical and modern flavours that any thumb pianist will enjoy. Read on!

With 30 Christmas songs to choose from you can pick a slow dreamy song or a catchier tune to play. Tabs are arranged for easy playing and experienced musicians and tweak the notes to make it more interesting. Links to all songs are shared below.

This festive list has a handful of some old favourites that are perfect for beginner kalimba players to try out and practice. The calming background helps with focus and learning is very easy.

  • Kalimba Chimes Holiday Playlist

For those who would rather watch a singular video, Defney's short and sweet holiday playlist of four Christmas carols would be a perfect match. The carols she plays include Away in a Manger, The First Noel, Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The music is soothing enough to be played in the background at home and the visuals truly put you in a relaxing mood.

  • Christmas Songbooks, Websites & Instagram

The Christmas collection by Noob Notes is an excellent alternative to video as there are music notes in text that can be copied and saved as per your convenience. Also consider the festive December archive of Yellow Bird Kalimba by Tay Lee Yen which has numbered as well as standard music notations that can be very helpful for those who would like to learn to read sheet music.

Also for those who wish to play shorter versions of carols and Christmas music to post as Reels on Instagram, @kalimba.notes.tabs has sweet little videos on her profile that are worth checking out.

Last but in no way the least, for those who would prefer to learn through a book, you can find a link to a beautiful collection of carols in a previous post about kalimba tablature.

Hope this article helped make Christmas all the more merrier on your kalimba. Do share with many more thumb pianists to brighten their day. Have a safe and bright Christmas, and a Happy New Year 2021!
